The Yagnob (self-designation the Yagnobi) are a not-so-numerous ethnographic group living in the basin of the river Yagnob and its tributary, the Kull, in Tajikistan. They are representatives of Indo-Mediterranean race. They speak Yagnob, this language is also taught at schools. The Yagnob believers are Muslims-Sunnites.

The main traditional occupation is agriculture and cattle breeding. Under special historic conditions separate men’s (weaving, felt mats making) and women’s (production of clay dishes) crafts have developed. At present, the main part of the Yagnob had mixed with the Tajiks, many moved into plains districts and began to cultivate virgin lands.
