The Bagulal are a small ethnic group belonging to the Ando-Tsezian peoples of West Alpine Daghestan. They live in some settlements of Tsumidan and Akhvakh districts of Daghestan.

Culturally and linguistically they are close to the Avars. Bagulal literature is based upon the Avaric and Russian written languages.

In their everyday life, they have merged with Avars to whom they are often attributed. However, their households are characterized by their own language and some characteristic cultural features.

The main occupation of the Bagulal is cattle-breeding and agriculture.

The Bagulal believers are Islam-Sunnites.
